Tu B'Av -- Reservations!

On Wednesday evening, August 13, from 6:00-9:00 PM, the first EndTheMadness social event will be held at Lincoln Square Synagogue in Manhattan. The event will be held in the shul's annex, which is next door to the main building. The women's section will be two blocks away (just kidding).

The theme is Jewish Arts Festival. There will be an open-mic, and those attending will have the opportunity to present their arts, crafts, writing, music, etc. to the audience. (Those interested in presenting are urged to contact me first -- I can't promise at this point that there will be time for everyone.) If you're part of a band and want to promote yourselves and your CD, go for it. Kol Isha will be observed.

*** Important note: All material that is presented MUST be g-rated! To be more specific, work that contains even mild obscenities or sexual suggestiveness is not invited. There is plenty of room to be creative without delving into these things, and, regardless of how you feel about this issue, that's the policy.

There is a reasonable possibility that a professional Jewish comedian will perform at the event as well. In addition, there will be light refreshments. There will be no alcohol, nor will any alcohol be allowed into the room.

The event can hold approximately 150 people. Reservations will be taken starting now on a first come, first served basis. Preference might be given to singles, people from out of town who are making a trip, and members of Lincoln Square Synagogue. Admission will be $7 per person, payable at the door. Please DO NOT make a reservation unless you intend to come!

To make a reservation, join the help committee, offer to present, ask stupid questions, or say hello, e-mail cweissma@ ymail.yu.edu.
