Navigating Through the Dating Maze
Date: Wednesday evening, April 18, 2007, 8PM
Place: Mount Sinai Jewish Center,
135 Bennett Avenue (Washington Heights)
* Is there a preferred method of finding dates: shadchanim, online, setups, natural meetings? Is one method better than another?
* Is there any value in dating to build socialization skills and maturity (before one may be ready to get married) versus dating only for marriage?
* What's with the artificial rules that we have set up (where someone must go on a date, how many dates are required before engagement or breaking up, dating only one person at a time, etc.)? Is there any halachic basis for these rules?
* Has the increased separateness of the sexes in education and other
activities contributed to the problem of a generation of young adults
dating with poor socialization skills?
* What can we all do to make dating both productive … and fun?
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
REFRESHMENTS AND SOCIALIZATION AFTER THE PROGRAM.
