    Sample Topics:

  • Is it ever appropriate to date more than one person at a time?

  • When and in what fashion should one attempt long distance dating?

  • When should one divulge sensitive personal information?

  • Is it ever okay to lie about one’s age or one’s past?

  • Should one ask out a girl in person at the conclusion of a date?

  • How should one go about breaking up at various stages of a relationship?

  • How can the community facilitate better events and introductions?

The discussions will take place in small groups
and will be facilitated by these and other moderators to be announced:

R’ Hayyim Angel • R’ Avraham Steinberg • R’ Josh Joseph • Sarah Hurwitz
R' Moshe Bellows • Michael Feldstein • Dr. Naomi Mark • Chananya Weissman

While singles of all ages are welcome, this program is geared for those who are relatively new to the wonderful world of dating. In order to make the program as comfortable as possible for all participants, each individual discussion group will have a maximum age, but no minimum age (20-25, 20-30, 20-35, etc.). Younger participants will thus have the option of joining groups outside their immediate age range if they so desire. Moderators will rotate periodically during the program.

Update - June 3

A few updates about next week's program (which is great, and which you should make it your business to attend if possible):

1) Rabbi Hayyim Angel will not be facilitating one of the discussions. He will deliver an opening Dvar Torah.

2) Frank Buchweitz from the OU, who is very much involved in programming for singles, will speak at some point.

3) Dr. Naomi Mark had to cancel due to a family matter. Fortunately, she will be replaced by another excellent facilitator: Miriam Ben-Chaim, a skilled facilitator and clinical psychologist.

This event is open to singles of all ages, but is especially geared for those relatively new to dating. It will be interesting, enlightening, and totally chilled out.
