* EndTheMadness Event April 7 *

  On Monday night April 7 at 8:00 the second EndTheMadness event will be held at Stern College's Schottenstein Theatre. There will be a series of short presentations, as described below, after which we will split up into informal, open-ended discussion groups / sessions, which will be hosted by the speakers. Hopefully a third speaker will be announced shortly.

The speakers will include:

RIVKA BLAU: "There Is A Better Way"

In addition to briefly discussing Orthodox dating from a historical
perspective (going back to Lithunia!), she will offer constructive
alternatives to the current shidduch scene which will help normalize socialization between the sexes.

Rivka Blau, a respected Jewish educator, founded Shevach High School, a school for girls in Queens, N.Y., and served as principal for more than a decade. She recently wrote a biography of her father, Rabbi Mordechai Pinchas Teitz, entitled, "Learn Torah, Love Torah, Live Torah." For many years, she has been informally involved in helping Orthodox Jewish singles meet. Her husband is Yosef Blau, the Mashgiach Ruchani at Yeshiva University's uptown campus.

CHANNIE BRAUN: "Preserving Your Optimism"

Channie Braun. is a 26 year old Registered Dietitian working at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. She enjoys public speaking in order to spread chizuk and simcha, particularly to other singles. She has spoken for Rabbi Reisman's shul, Young Israel of Bedford Bay, YU Torah Tours and in private homes on the topics of tefilla, kiruv, simcha, and spirituality of nutrition. She went to Shulamith for 12 years, earned her Bachelor's at Brooklyn College and had her Internship at Cornell.
