Have you ever heard a Dvar Torah that was filled with great ideas, but nearly put you to sleep or had you fidgeting uncontrollably? Are you terrified of public speaking even though you have lots to share? Are you studying to become a Rabbi or teacher and need more opportunities to hone your skills? Do you like to be in the company of friendly and fun people? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this is for you.

EndTheMadness and the Young Israel of Far Rockaway are joining together to create a new weekly Dvar Torah Club. Men and women of all ages are invited to share Divrei Torah and/or to hear words of Torah from others. Each Dvar Torah will be followed by a short discussion. We also hope to have special guest speakers occasionally.

The meetings will follow a Toastmasters-like format, in that the audience will submit constructive oral and/or written feedback following each presentation (optional on both ends). This gives speakers the opportunity to enhance their public speaking skills. Speakers may share with the audience one or two specific aspects of public speaking on which they wish to focus. The goal of this program is to spread Torah and improve the speaking abilities of participants; after all, being able to deliver your ideas effectively is almost as essential as having good ideas in the first place!

This is a wonderful opportunity to hear Divrei Torah, improve your speaking abilities, and help others improve their speaking abilities in a congenial shul environment.  

Single men and women from Far Rockaway, the Five Towns, and nearby communities are particularly invited, but this is not a singles event!
