Rivkah Blau – There Is A Better Way

In addition to briefly discussing Orthodox dating from a historical perspective (going back to Lithuania!), Dr. Blau will offer constructive alternatives to the current shidduch scene which will help normalize socialization between the sexes.

Rivkah Blau, a respected Jewish educator, founded Shevach High School, a school for girls in Queens, N.Y., and served as principal for more than a decade.  She recently wrote a biography of her father, Rabbi Mordechai Pinchas Teitz, entitled, “Learn Torah, Love Torah, Live Torah”.  For many years, she has been informally involved in helping Orthodox Jewish singles meet.  Her husband is Rabbi Yosef Blau, the Mashgiach Ruchani at Yeshiva University's uptown campus.

Moshe Bellows, Esq.   Empowerment Training

“I’ve Got the Whole World In My Hand!”: Taking Individual Responsibility For Changing Dating Perspectives.  Mr. Bellows will explore the idea of articulating needs – to parents, friends, and others.  He will discuss how to effect behavioral change; how to deal with positive and negative family and community opinions, comments and suggestions; and share perspectives on contemporary vs. old-school shadchanim.

Moshe Bellows has been called "the young Jewish Dr. Phil." His entertaining yet provocative seminars on relationships and communication have transformed the lives of many.  He is a candidate for a degree in Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy and is a personal, professional and corporate coach.  He received his B.A. from Yeshiva University (1990) and his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law (1993).  He is admitted to the New York, New Jersey and Illinois Bars.  For almost a decade, Mr. Bellows has committed much of his energy and talents to improving the quality of national and international Jewish life.   He is the former Executive Director of Isralight and current Director of Development for Camp Extreme, the only adventure camp for at-risk Jewish adolescents.  Mr. Bellows also enjoys a wide range of acting credits in theatre, film, and television; he can currently be seen on ABC's One Life to Live.
